"The
Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) would like to warn and urge members of the
public to strongly ignore and treat social media posts circulating, purporting
that there is a Zambia Revenue Support Trust Fund Program and that the
Authority has advertised for jobs, as FAKE.
We have noted with great concern fake recruitment
adverts circulating on social media purporting to have been issued by the
Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA). This is a big concern for the Authority because
some members of the public who are desperate for employment get swindled.
Therefore, we would like to warn members of the
general public not to be swayed or duped by unscrupulous people forging and
coming up with fake ZRA documents in order to swindle unsuspecting people.
In the past, the Authority has received cases of
the general public being swindled of hard-earned cash by unscrupulous people
purporting to be recruitment agents for Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
The swindlers send fake messages inviting the unsuspecting general public to
attend interviews/assessment tests, conduct Police clearance, undergo medical
examinations and report for work.
We wish to notify the general public that ZRA has
a Resourcing & Selection Policy that provides clear guidelines and
procedures for recruitment of candidates and candidates are not charged for
anything as far as recruitment is concerned.
ZRA’s recruitment process is anchored on core
values of transparency, professionalism and integrity. Further, be guided that
ZRA advertises job vacancies on the ZRA website and in the print media.
Further, we wish to sternly warn the perpetrators
of such dubious activities that ZRA is on high alert and is working very
closely with Zambia Police Service and other security wings in order to protect
the unsuspecting general public.
Therefore, the general public is asked to be on
high alert for this scam and is encouraged to report such unscrupulous people
to the nearest Police Station or any ZRA Office for quick action." End of
quotation of their statement.
