A
23-year-old Nambian man, identified as Nikanor Katolli, was arrested after he
allegedly tried to kill his ex-girlfriend by cutting out her tongue.
According
to the Erongo regional crime coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Ikuyu the
Attempted Murder happened on
Monday,
4 September 2023 at about 00:15 at single quarters near Navzra bar, Mondesa,
Swakopmund- Namibia.
It
is alleged that the suspect allegedly cut off half of his 24-year-old
ex-girlfriend's tongue with the sharp object and the victim sustained a serious
injury.
The
victim was taken to Swakopmund State Hospital from where she was transferred to
Katutura State Hospital and is still admitted.
The suspect appeared at the Swakopmund Magistrate court and he was not given bail. The case was postponed to 12 October 2023 for further investigations to continue.
