The latest sexual harassment accusation on our women team
coach Bruce Mwape from yesterday’s UK Guardian newspaper is that was seen at
the Word-cup rubbing his hands on one player’s breasts.
Maybe now that we are out of the tournament, Government
should take keen interest and investigate further.
This more so that the Guardian newspaper source is from
amongst the players themselves.
It now looks like a case of ‘there is no smoke
without fire’. A Commision of inquiry should be set up otherwise the entire nation
will be accomplice to the crime if indeed it was happening. Like any one
suspect, he is indeed innocent until proven guilty.
We should however not continue ignoring the now
persistent complaints from some amongst the voiceless women players. Government
as custodian of our laws should intervene immediately.
