Crocodile eats man while fishing in Samfya District, Luapula Province

 

A 32-year-old man of Samfya District in Luapula Province has been killed by a crocodile while he was fishing on Lake Bangweulu.

The victim was identified by his relatives as Kabanshi Mwape of Nkoya village in Chisuku area.

Deputy Police spokesperson, Danny Mwale said the victim went fishing alone on Lake Bangweulu using a canoe on yesterday around 18:00 hours.

Whilst on the lake the reptile dragged him out of the boat and killed him in the water.

Mwale said a search was conducted today, around 08:00 hours by the deceased's relatives and other members of the community who managed to retrieve the body, cut in two
