The South Korean Embassy in UK in conjunction with the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council hosts a national UK University student essay competition since 2020.
Awards are given in recognition of outstanding performance on essays.
This year, Lisa Kwaleyela became the first African student to win the award.
Lisa wrote an essay on Sustainable Peacebuilding on the Korean Peninsula which won her the award.
She is a Lecturer in the Department of Governance at the Copperbelt University and is pursuing her PhD in Area Studies (Africa) at Oxford University.
